Q.1 Is the RE a(a+b)*a+b(a+b)*b right for sigma={a,b} bigining with and ending in same letter?
.Q.2 why we use 1 in transition diagram?
and also tell me that can we cover our syllabus only by reading handouts? or it is necessry to read recommended books ?
answer:
There is slight modification required to be done in the given RE. The strings with single letters a and b should also be part of it as given below:
a + b + a(a+b)*a + b(a+b)*b
Your second query is incomplete as you didn’t provide the reference of the example in the handouts. Please provide the reference of the example so that I can be able to properly guide you.
The easiest way to cover your syllabus is to watch video lectures as per the video schedule given on main VU website. Also examples in the handouts are very important to cover the topics and if you skip the examples and just focus on the theory, you will not be able to achieve the objectives of this course. Recommended books are also very important as you will find many examples related to all topics such as RE, FA, TG, CFG etc.
