STA301 Statistics and Probability
Exam/Paper Pattern Guidelines:
- The final term is consisting of before and after midterm chapters.
- Before mid term portion consist of chapters: 1-22
- After midterm portion consist of chapters: 23-40 (Last five chapters will NOT be included in exams)
- In final, 70-75% question will come from “after midterm portion” and remaining, 25-30% questions will be from “before midterm portion”
- Budgeted/Allocated time (given below) is for your planning purpose only. You can use/adjust time on each question as you wish.
Midterm Paper: (Total time = 60 minutes)
Objective Type:
- MCQs: There will be 20 questions, each having 1 mark. Budgeted/Allocated time is ONE minute for each question. (20 minutes)
Subjective Type:
- 2 Marks: There will be 2 questions, each having 2 marks. Budgeted/Allocated time is FOUR minutes for each question. (8 minutes)
- 3 Marks: There will be 2 questions, each having 3 marks. Budgeted/Allocated time is SIX minutes for each question. (12 minutes)
- 5 Marks: There will be 2 questions, each having 5 marks. Budgeted/Allocated time is TEN minutes for each question. (20 minutes)
Final Term: (Total time = 120 minutes)
Objective Type:
- MCQs: There will be 40 questions, each having 1 mark. Budgeted/Allocated time is one minute for each question. (40 minutes)
Subjective Type:
- 2 Marks: There will be 4 questions, each having 2 marks. Budgeted/Allocated time is FOUR minutes for each question. (16 minutes)
- 3 Marks: There will be 4 questions, each having 3 marks. Budgeted/Allocated time is SIX minutes for each question. (24 minutes)
- 5 Marks: There will be 4 questions, each having 5 marks. Budgeted/Allocated time is TEN minutes for each question. (40 minutes)
